VINTAGE TRAVEL TRAILERS FOR SALE (SALES)
We love vintage travel trailers. We make a living rebuilding these beauties, not because it's a great way to make a profit, but because it's a great way to profit emotionally, spiritually and physically. We are keeping a 'Spirit' alive that is all but forgotten. It's literally a labor of love. We've been doing this kind of work for nearly 30 years. This is extremely hard work. We have learned enough tricks over the years that we guarantee it will cost you less to buy one of our projects than it will to do it yourself.... It's skilled labor that rebuilds a trailer to last.

Philosophy of Restoration
restoration
1.
the act of restoring; renewal, revival, or reestablishment.
2.
the state or fact of being restored.
3.
a return of something to a former, original, normal, or unimpaired condition.

Our Philosophy... 'If it's not quite right... IT'S WRONG!'
There is an element of perfection that can come only with experience.
Exterior Paint: It's all in the prep work. The surface has to be smooth and flat. Dirt and dust free. Free of any contaminants including waxes, road salts, oils and tars etc. Followed by a clean coat of self etching primer. Paint won't stick to aluminum without it. Aluminum is so lite that it flexes with temperature changes. A self etching primer will eliminate this problem. We can spend weeks preparing a trailer skin for paint that can be applied in 4 hours. When the surface is prepared properly modern urethane's will bond to the original surface as if they were ONE. And with the catalyst (hardener) they will withstand the most severe abuse. Craftsmen of the 50's didn't have this technology at their disposal. Their paints would fade within a couple of years.
Interior Paint: The only paints available in the 50's were oil/lead based paints. Lead is extremely toxic and dangerous to work with. It needs to be worked with carefully. And it needs to be covered and sealed with lead free oil base paint. There are inexperienced restorers that will try to use latex and good adhesion and protection is not possible combining water and oil.
Other: Putty tape (butyl tape) is used for sealing exterior fixtures, windows and edges/seams. There are good and bad putty tapes available. The good ones cost a little more but will extend the life of a trailer by many years. The tape used in the 50's would harden after time. The tape we use will not harden ensuring a tight seal for many years to come. We are restoring trailers that are 50, 60 and 70 years old. We expect our projects won't need restoring for over a 125 years....

It's our desire that a whole new generation will be exposed to these awesome works of art and it will create many lasting memories for you and your family. It's lasted 45 years since it was built and it will last longer this time due to modern finishes and techniques.
